Teaching Independent Thinking within Functional Skills

Many students, especially those learning at entry levels, find working independently challenging.  When faced with an unfamiliar problems they often have difficulties in to conceptualising the issues and working out which techniques to apply, when and how in order to deliver effective solutions This is presents difficulties during in real life and exam situations.  By adopting a more andragogical approach to teaching, ie one that focusses more on the development of independent thinking skills, collaborative learning, problem-solving and team building strategies, teachers, trainers and tutors can provide better more effective support to students This new one-day workshop from Concrew Training explores the strategies and approaches that teachers trainers and tutors can use.  One's which seek to unpack exam questions, identify ways of achieving higher exam marks and help to create practical activities which will allow maths and English to be taught in a more relevant manner,
