Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) exam met the “minimum standards” for equality and diversity “but improvements are required.” The BMA has called for greater transparency around variations in performance across different groups of candidates in membership exams for medical royal colleges. International medical graduates have been shown to perform less well in the membership exams of the Royal College of General Practitioners, the Royal College of Psychiatrists, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
